へたれは遠くから感嘆する

授業準備のために、久しぶりでLarry Kramerの'1,112 AND COUNTING'*1を読む。
Kramerも創成期メンバーだったACT-UPへの評価は色々とあるようだし、この記事自体も細かく読めば批判すべき点もあるだろう。けれども、'If this article doesn't scare the shit out of you, we're in real trouble.'と始まるこの記事を読んでいると、そういうことを忘れさせるようなレトリックの推進力というのか、そんな繊細で洗練されたものではなく、もっと猪突猛進！みたいなパワーと言う方が適切なのかもしれないけれども、それにやっぱり圧倒されてしまう。レトリックで説き伏せろ、とか、逆に、レトリックでやられちゃった、とか、そういう事の明らかなマイナス面というのはあるのだけれども、それでもやはり説得の術、Kramerのこの記事の場合は扇動の術というのか、禍々しい側面は承知の上でその技術に惹かれる部分が、間違いなくわたくしには、ある。

とはいえ、そんな技術もなければ肝っ玉もないわたくしは、そういう禍々しい扇動の記事を遠く２０年の歳月を経て観賞したりして、相も変わらずのただのへたれなのですが。けれど、具体的状況は違えども、きちんと全身で怒らなくてはいけないことは、今もまだ（あるいはますます）わたくしの周囲にもあるわけで、扇動なんて高度な技術のない人間としては、せめて一人でちゃんと怒って行動しなくては、です。＜言うは易し
